Our Urgent Care Centre for children at The Portland Hospital accepts patients aged 0-17 years. Please note we are currently unable to offer walk-in appointments. You need to book an appointment for your child before attending our Urgent Care Centre. Please contact us on 020 7390 6150 for assessment by a children’s nurse or doctor. To minimise travel and exposure for you and your child we also provide video consultations on a secure platform with one of our Urgent Care Centre Physicians.
Important information
What happens when you call our urgent care?
- If after assessment your child’s condition requires a face-to-face consultation, you will be given an appointment to attend the UCC.
- If your child's condition can be safely managed by video consultation, we will offer you this route.
- If your child’s condition is not within our inclusion criteria, you may be advised to attend your local Emergency Department or seek treatment via the NHS.

An Urgent Care Physician will also be available to review the wound as required. The service is covered by the majority of insurance providers but a self- pay option is also available.




COVID-19 Safety measures
Please be advised we are not able to admit patients to the hospital without a negative lateral flow test.
For parents, if you are presenting any COVID-19 symptoms, please complete a lateral flow test at home before travelling into the Urgent Care Centre.
In addition, all patients with symptoms will undergo a lateral flow test before seeing a doctor. If you test positive we will be unable to proceed with the face-to-face consultations.
For in-person visits, two parent/ guardian are permitted per child.

Great Portland Street station is on the Hammersmith & City Line, Circle line and Metropolitan line. It is located approximately 2 mins away from us.
Regent’s Park station is on the Bakerloo line. It is located about 5-6 mins away from us.

Please be aware that we do not provide parking for patients or visitors. Local parking facilities are limited and we advise visitors to use the nearby Union Carparks in Devonshire Row Mews.
How to access our Urgent Care Centres
We are open for walk-in patients at our Adult Urgent Care Centres, however our paediatric Urgent Care Centre at The Portland Hospital requires booking an appointment. If you have any questions please call us.
For any life threatening conditions patients should always call 999 or go to the nearest NHS emergency department
