Can patients get emergency repeat prescriptions?
Yes, we can provide a repeat prescription, you will need to bring your latest current prescription with you. We will update your GP so they know what was prescribed and when. This is a useful service for anyone who is visiting London from abroad and has run out of medication or accidentally forgot it.
Please be aware we reserve the right to decline a prescription if we feel it inappropriate. We do not prescribe any controlled drug.
COVID-19 Safety Measures
On arrival all patients will be provided with a mask, have their temperature checked and carry out our routine COVID screening questions.
In addition, all patients will be provided with a lateral flow test and a rapid PCR test if admission is required.
Please be advised we are not able to admit patients to the hospital without a negative PCR test.
We are open for walk in appointments.
Please note that to maintain a COVID safe environment we may need to suspend the walk in service during busy periods of the day. Patients are advised to phone UCC in advance to confirm the current level of service.
Please note we do not accept COVID positive patients for admissions.
How much will my Urgent Care visit cost : Urgent care prices
An initial consultation with an urgent care doctor is £100 for adults. Our price list is a guide to the costs of treatments carried out within the Urgent Care Centre, which are paid for on a self-funded basis. It is possible you may need one or several items from this list.
If you need further care via a consultant referral, the cost of ongoing care will be explained to you. At this stage, if you have private medical insurance, you will be able to seek authorisation for treatment.
It is also possible to self-pay for treatment in any of our hospitals, and pricing can be explained to you by our business offices.

St John's Wood Urgent Care Centre is located just off Wellington Road. Metered parking is available on the street. Q-Park on Kingsmill Terrace is a short walk from the hospital, tickets for discounted parking are held at the main Urgent Care Reception which will entitle you to 15% discount. Further parking is available on Lanark Road in Maida Vale (10 min walk).
How to access our Urgent Care Centres
We are open for walk in patients at our adult Urgent Care Centres, however our paediatric Urgent Care Centre at The Portland Hospital requires booking an appointment.
